In a few weeks I will be 57. If you had asked my 20 year old self what I was going to be at 57 I would have wanted to be retired and living a sedate and relaxed life. But I am very thankful THAT is no longer the purpose and vision I have for my own life!
I have learnt that it is really crucial for all of us to have a sense of purpose and direction in our lives. To know where we want to go and how to get there.
And the people who have this sense of direction are often successful. Not only in terms of material wealth. But more so in terms of how they have been able to maximise their potential as human beings.
We have all been endowed with gifts and abilities. It is what we do with them that makes us successful or not in life. If you have no sense of where you are going in life. It is highly doubtful you will be able to lead yourself or others.
John C Maxwell in his book on the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership sums it up very well in the Law of Navigation. This video describes this law and how YOU can also get yourself to be a good navigator of yourself and others so you can also lead a successful life.
